Girl Scouts Collect Books

Posted

The count is in — following a February book drive, Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2096 learned in March that they collected 400 new and used books to benefit the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center pediatric department and the Maryland Book Bank. Troop members were involved in choosing the project, making donation boxes, advertising during school announcements and collecting donations in-person for two weeks. This community service project is part of a year-long program where troop members have been researching and presenting on women in history as part of the "Because of Her" Girl Scout patch program. Troop members have been excited to find ways they can create positive change in their community just like the women they have been studying.
