STEM Festival To Debut In Severna Park

“I can’t believe science could be so much fun!” kids say as they experiment with tin foil boats and robo-critters. “What are we going to build next?”

Energize your children’s connections with science at the first Severna Park STEM Festival this Saturday, February 29, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, at the Severna Park Community Center (Holy Grounds, 623 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard).

The STEM Festival is presented by PAAGE, Partnership to Address the Achievement Gap in Education, a Severna-Park based nonprofit that uses STEM tools to improve the academic performance of all students by working with underserved populations in Anne Arundel County.

As they explore such interactive stations as “All Things Gooey,” “On the Go,” and “Land and Water,” fascinated children ages 6-16 will learn and grow, catching the bug by doing real science with local scientists.

Dramatic demonstrations, presented at intervals from the stage, will augment the interactive exhibits and activity stations.

“We have an incredible line-up of scientists who are excited to share the fun of learning with our community,” said Uju Elliffe, board president of PAAGE.
