SPHS Teen Wins Scholarship From Huntington Learning Center

Posted

Amelia Horrell won $4,000 in February following a nationwide contest sponsored by Huntington Learning Center. The contest had few requirements — a name, address, contact information, school name and graduation year. A senior at Severna Park High School, Horrell is still mulling her college options, from Maryland to Florida, but she said, “College is expensive, so this will really help.”

At Severna Park High School, Horrell is on the mock trial team, she works on The Talon literary magazine, and she is involved with the improv troupe. “I like to think I’m passionate about everything I do,” Horrell said. “Each activity focuses on different things, so they’re making me ready for life and college.”
