SPHS Prom Fashion Show Benefits March Of Dimes

Posted

Severna Park High School’s Key Club will hold its 14th annual Prom Fashion Show on Friday, February 7, at 7:00pm in the SPHS auditorium. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

All proceeds from this event go to the March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of women and children. The 2019 Prom Fashion Show raised $4,000, and in the 13 years that the show has been held, Key Club has raised $26,000 to support this cause.

Forty Severna Park High School students will model looks for this year’s “Under the Sea” theme. Businesses David’s Bridal, Jos A. Bank, Image Creators Salon & Spa, Face It! Spa and Wellness, An Extraordinar Limousine, Blooming Basket, Severna Park Florist, and Meri Meri are donating products to help to dress, decorate and prep students for the runway!

A few girls will model student-designed outfits. Junior Ellie Heath and sophomore Helena Linnick have created pieces that they will model.

Local vendors providing prom-related services will be available to chat with audience members before the show and during intermission. Raffle baskets will be up for grabs; prices are $1 for one raffle ticket, and $6 for five raffle tickets. Other noteworthy performances of the night will include the Severna Park Middle School Dance Company, and the Severna Park High School jazz band.

The Severna Park High School Key Club is in search of elementary schoolers to be mini-models. Students in grades K-5 are welcome to come dressed in their princess dresses and tuxedos to walk the stage. Parents can email promfashionshowspkc@gmail.com to sign up.
