Restaurants Offer Catering Options To Make The Season Bright

Posted

‘Tis the season for … catering! Though COVID-19 may hamper some holiday plans, it doesn't have to damper the spirit. A smaller party means more funds to amp up the food, and local restaurants have what you need to make the evenings (and days) bright.

Severna Park Taphouse
58 West Earleigh Heights Road in Severna Park
410-793-5759

A favorite neighborhood kickback spot, Severna Park Taphouse is offering to-go platters rather than a specific catering option.

Popular picks include wings, veggies and cheese, dips (queso, chicken buffalo or crab), shrimp cocktail, oysters on a half shell, crab balls, club sandwiches, prime rib sandwiches, pulled pork, teriyaki veggies, quinoa shrimp, salads and dessert trays. Pick and choose your favorites. Each tray serves 20.

For a contactless transaction, pay by phone, and masked wait staff will bring your order to your car.

Bella Napoli
350 Mountain Road in Pasadena
410-255-9400

Imagine warm, Italian comfort food for your celebrations. You can't go wrong with Bella Napoli, a Pasadena favorite for 18 years. Owner Biagio Carannante said Bella Napoli offers everything on its extensive menu for catering.

"Tell us what you want, and we'll customize the catering," Carannante emphasized.

Prices are based on the group's size, but Carannante said he'll work with almost any budget. Favorites are chicken parmesan, baked ziti, meatballs, chicken alfredo and shrimp.

"Mix it up," Carannante suggested. "Call us and let us know what you like.”

The restaurant offers curbside delivery and pickup when given three days of notice.

Garry's Grill
553 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Severna Park
410-544-0499

Does your family like to celebrate early? Order the “king's breakfast” and savor scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, sausage, French toast, a variety of pastries, coffee and orange juice. Additional breakfast options are available.

Want finger foods or appetizers to satisfy and tantalize your guests before the main course? Choose meatballs, mini crab cakes, wings or stuffed mushrooms. Garry’s has a cocktail package with fruits and cheeses, crab fondue, chicken bits, bacon-wrapped shrimp, antipasto, your choice of meatballs, and more.

Garry's Grill has an extensive catering menu for every option with hot entrees, sandwiches, pasta and much more. Plus, keep an eye out for holiday platters and individually wrapped meals.

Pick up your order, have the food delivered, or choose full service.

Two Rivers Steak & Fish House
4105 Mountain Road in Pasadena
410-360-1919

Located in Lake Shore Plaza, Two Rivers also has an extensive catering menu. Favorites include prime rib, baked ziti and chicken dishes.

"We put everything together from soup to nuts," said General Manager Keith Thomas. "We will work with clients to put together any menu to meet their needs and price points."

The broad menu offers breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner, and hors de' oeuvres.

For the holidays, Two Rivers will offer special pies, cookies and other baked goods. "We'll have a selection of five different Christmas pies. They're very popular, so you should get your orders in early," Thomas said. Christmas pie choices will be posted on the website the day after Thanksgiving.

Café Mezzanotte
760 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park
410-647-1100

Café Mezzanotte offers an assortment of platters to go — including appetizers and salads — think mozzarella caprese, grilled sausage, pancetta shrimp and fresh greens — and a variety of crowd-pleasing entrees. For $55 or less, you can serve a small party of four to six people, giving them lobster penne, veal scallopini, shrimp scampi, or a choice for many premium Italian platters. A full tray of lasagna classico feeds up to 22 people for $150.

The restaurant seasonally changes menus, and its fall/winter selections are now available, but Matthew Boyd, Mezzanote's banquet and catering manager, said customers’ favorite appetizers are always the mozzarella caprese and the 90-mile meatballs. Asked about the 90-mile name, Boyd explained the meat, comprised of veal pork and beef, is all sourced from farms 90 miles or less from the restaurant.

Other classic favorites include chicken parmesan, and lasagna, which offers a great family value and convenience. "They go a long way," Boyd said. Asked about the top catered desserts, Boyd quickly answered, "Our favorite go-to's are the mini cannolis. They are fantastic."

In addition to the catering menu, the restaurant customizes orders as needed.

The restaurant offers curbside pickup for regular day-to-day orders and large platters with payments accepted over the phone. Café Mezzanotte continues to do full-service catering and limited delivery for special circumstances arranged in advance.

Park Tavern
580 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park
410-793-5930

Park Tavern is gearing up for Thanksgiving by helping families create their ideal feast. Both meat and vegetarian options are available. The traditional turkey dinner has white and dark meat, sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potato casserole, turkey gravy and cranberry chutney. It comes with a choice of pies: apple, pecan or pumpkin. Other menu offerings include the glazed spiral ham dinner (with similar side dishes as the turkey dinner), soups, salads, shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, meatballs, wings, wine, beer and more. See the full menu at www.206rg.com/thanksgiving. Orders are due by November 22.

Chick Fil-A
511 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park
410-647-6232

Chick Fil-A has a variety of reasonably priced catering options including trays of nuggets, fruit salad, “chick-n-strips,” cool wraps, sandwiches, salads and more. For desserts, choose chocolate chunk cookies.

Marketing Director Margaret Bomberger said the restaurant also offers chilled nugget trays. “They’re great to put in the freezer and put them in the oven as needed,” she said. “We also have individual packaged meals, which are great for offices.”

As always, customers may choose curbside pickup, or, depending on the restaurant, delivery. Bomberger said the Chick-fil-A app is the most convenient way to place orders.

Note that all delivery and pickup options could be changed based upon potentially changing COVID-19 restrictions.
