Good Neighbors Group Hosts 2021 Severna Park Earth Day Festival

Posted

Good Neighbors Group (GNG) kicked off the 19th annual Severna Park Earth Day Festival on April 1. The nearly month long, virtual celebration is free to all participants.

While it is hoped that the 2022 festival can be in person, this year’s program offers even more ways to participate. GNG will launch the festival with a calendar of Daily Dives now through April 23, featuring activities designed to help residents grow, learn and engage in ways to support a greener community. These family-friendly activities will benefit all ages, teaching the importance of sustainability and how to improve overall community and environmental health.

The group has also created Sustainable Saturdays (April 3, 10, 17) to encourage community based green projects. The goal is to create a simple but impactful way for residents to brighten the communities in which they live.

The festival culminates on April 24 with a virtual roundtable event, Community Conversation, designed to educate and inspire participants on how to make environmentally friendly changes in the greater community. Leaders from organizations representing energy, engineering, policy and law, landscape architecture and permaculture will be a part of the event.  The roundtable is hosted through Eventbrite and moderated by the festival’s sponsor, Sustainable You.
