Children Clean Up Shipley’s Choice

Young environmental stewards took to the streets of their Shipley’s Choice neighborhood in October to keep the area clean. Those kids were Ella Sprouse, Benjamin Sprouse, Cameron Ledsome, Hayden Ledsome, Mya Trippett, Lea Trippett, Kyra Trippett, Camille Mann, Thomas a'Becket, Sophia Lourie, Ellis St. John, Marco DeLuca, Michael Carroll and Christian DeLuca.

“Obviously this is not a challenge unique to any one neighborhood or street,” said Jennifer Mann, a mom who helped lead the effort. “It's on our community athletic fields, parks, trails and along our roadways. The young environmental stewards featured in the attached photos have taken the initiative over several weeks to help clean up our Shipley's Choice neighborhood as they recognize that beyond their academic and athletic performances, their actions have a direct and positive impact on our local community, wildlife and the Chesapeake Bay watershed.”
